Parrot Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Varisaipet Saree with Violet Border
Parrot Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Varisaipet Saree with Violet Border
Kili pachai, the brilliant green of a young parrot, opens into an unexpected deep violet border in this joyous Kanchipuram silk. Blue silk-thread buttas punctuate the field, while antique-gold zari gathers rhythm along the generous Varisaipet edge.
❖ Woven in Kanchipuram over 16 days on the loom, using Silk Mark certified pure silk, by artisans who have handed this craft down through generations.

Woven in the Varisaipet tradition, brilliant parrot-green silk with alternating blue silk-thread floral and bird-inspired buttas, including peacock-like forms. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: Violet-purple Varisaipet border built from stacked gold zari rows, ornamental floral registers, blue accents and small geometries.
Pallu: Grand deep-violet pallu densely articulated with long horizontal and vertical gold zari registers, floral and geometric details.
Styling: Keep the blouse deep violet with elbow-length sleeves and a clean neckline, then add small antique-gold jhumkas and a single strand of jasmine. For a contemporary variation, try a sleeveless violet silk blouse with narrow blue piping.
Consider for November Deepavali gatherings, temple visits, winter wedding functions, Margazhi cultural programmes or January Pongal celebrations, allowing for the actual delivery schedule.
