Parrot Green and Black Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Kudhirai Butta and Zari Border
Parrot Green and Black Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Kudhirai Butta and Zari Border
The procession had already begun when she stepped out — and the saree stopped it, if only for a moment, the way only something woven with this much intention can. This is a handwoven pure silk Kanjeevaram saree in vivid parrot green, woven on the traditional looms of Kanchipuram by artisan weaver families with generations of craft in their hands.
The body is a vivid, clear parrot green with the distinctive sheen of pure mulberry silk. Across the body, Kudhirai Butta in fine gold zari — each a prancing horse in mid-stride, woven with the kind of precise detail that only a master weaver working by hand can produce — animate the silk with energy and auspicious movement.
The border is a structured black outer band with a deep maroon inner section, both carrying dense gold zari work that frames the parrot green body with striking ceremonial contrast. The pallu carries dense gold zari temple and bird motifs in black and maroon, dramatic and celebratory in equal measure.
