16 Days on Loom
Pure Mulberry Silk
Handwoven in Kanchipuram
A Vairaoosi saree: fine Vairaoosi lines run across the pale aqua body, interwoven with ornate rudraksham bands. The border is woven in the Korvai technique in the Ganga Jamuna style. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border Elephants and deer stand within arches, woven in fine detail, while a sequence of kolam pettu motifs runs along the top beneath an arai maadam temple outline.
Pallu A truly grand pallu: elephants beneath arches, vanki pettu motifs, and a diamond grid that spreads its pattern across a field of muthu seer.
Styling Choose a violet or deep-green silk blouse to echo the border, with heirloom temple jewellery for a bridal-worthy finish. A saree for weddings, muhurthams, temple celebrations and once-in-a-lifetime occasions.
