Pachai Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Butta Saree with Deep Magenta Small Border, Handwoven Silk Thread Buttas and Grand Mayil Zari Pallu

Pachai Green gives this handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram an extraordinarily fresh, luminous presence. The saturated green body is vibrant without losing the depth and natural sheen characteristic of pure Kanchipuram silk.

❖ Nothing here comes off a shelf. 40 days of dyeing, threading, and weaving go into every saree, 14 of that on the loom.

This is a confirmed Butta composition in pure mulberry silk, with individually woven decorative motifs placed at measured intervals across the body silk. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 14 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. Woven for Idam Living by skilled artisan families in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu. Read our story.

Body, Border and Pallu: The saturated Pachai Green body is vibrant without losing the depth and natural sheen characteristic of pure Kanchipuram silk, decorated with beautifully handwoven silk thread buttas arranged in a measured repeating rhythm that gives the saree subtle texture while allowing the brilliant green field to remain visually dominant. The small Deep Magenta border is an especially elegant feature — rather than an oversized ceremonial border, the saree keeps the edge beautifully proportioned for a lighter, more graceful drape, with antique gold zari woven through in finely articulated traditional registers. Within the zari work, ornate Mayil motifs unfold against the Deep Magenta ground, surrounded by floral and geometric detailing, the contrast between vivid green, rich magenta and warm antique gold giving the narrow border remarkable presence despite its restrained scale. The pallu becomes dramatically richer, with Deep Magenta silk densely woven with antique gold zari in a fine geometric field, framed on either side by elaborate Mayil motif registers, the repeating peacocks, scrolling botanical details and intricate zari lattice creating a grand ceremonial finish that contrasts beautifully with the cleaner body. Explore the Butta collection, or browse the wider pure silk Kanchipuram collection for more of this character.

Styling: The small border makes this saree particularly elegant with a clean Deep Magenta blouse. Keep the blouse relatively restrained and allow the handwoven buttas and rich pallu to lead the look. Antique temple jewellery or traditional gold jewellery would beautifully complement the green, magenta and antique gold palette.
