Border and mundhanai: The Kathiripoo purple border is richly articulated with lotus-vine detail, grand Mayil motifs and a deep raspberry-red zari register that sharpens the transition between the earthy body and the jewel-toned contrast. The pallu opens into an intricate gold-zari field with fine geometric texture and ornamental Mayil bands, giving the saree a strong Kanchipuram finish without losing the refinement of the body.
