Olive Green and Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Korvai Zari Pallu
Olive Green and Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Korvai Zari Pallu
For the Dallas Seemantham Ceremony, this olive green and purple Kanchipuram silk speaks the language of auspicious colour and heirloom craft. The body is woven in rich olive-moss green pure mulberry silk with scattered gold zari bird butta — small, precisely placed motifs catching the light across the breadth of the silk. Korvai refers to the body and border woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom — a construction that allows two colours to meet at the border with a seamless structural join unique to Kanchipuram.
The olive green silk body carries the warmth of a deep botanical hue, the scattered gold zari butta creating a quiet, scattered radiance across the surface. The body transitions into the deep purple Korvai border through that signature structural interlocking that only Kanchipuram's loom technique can produce.
The deep purple border carries its own scattered butta and unfolds into a wide, richly woven pallu — dense gold zari temple motifs, figurative bands, and geometric repeat patterns layered across the full purple pallu breadth.
