Olive Green and Deep Aubergine Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Gaja Elephant Border
Olive Green and Deep Aubergine Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Gaja Elephant Border
This saree is woven in the Rettapet style, where twin parallel border lines create a balanced, layered edge. Our weavers, based in Kunnam village, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, hand-loom every thread — read our story. Each saree takes close to a week on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine.
The body is woven in a rich olive green pure mulberry silk, scattered with petite gold zari buttas that catch the light with every fold. Explore more from our Kanchipuram Pure Silks collection.
The deep aubergine Rettapet border carries a traditional Gaja (elephant) zari panel, a motif long associated with strength and auspicious beginnings, echoed again in the matching pallu. Discover more from our Korvai Kanchipuram silk sarees, Vairaoosi Kanchipuram silk sarees, and the full Kanchipuram Pure Silks collection.
This saree drapes beautifully for festive pujas, receptions, and traditional family gatherings. Pair it with a deep aubergine or antique gold blouse, and temple jewellery in gold or antique finish to let the elephant motif border take centre stage.
