Woven in the Butta tradition, A saturated Neelam blue silk field, like deep twilight beneath a clear southern sky, holds widely spaced Mayil Chakram zari buttas and circular floral medallions, leaving generous luminous blue silk between motifs. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 14 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: A broad blue-on-blue antique-gold zari border with a continuous register of ornate peacock-like paisley forms, curling vines, small floral elements and close geometric edging. The larger figures form a rhythmic procession along the hem.
Pallu: A grand gold-zari pallu on the same royal-blue ground, built from closely packed nested diamond lattices and tiered traditional floral and bird-inspired ornamental panels, finished with blue tassels visible in the photograph.
Styling: Style with a royal-blue silk blouse for a seamless drape or choose antique gold for evening weddings. A low jasmine bun and sculptural gold earrings keep the long peacock border visible without competing with its fine latticework.
