Muted Plum Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Butta Saree with Antique Gold Paisley Buttas, Burnt Rust Contrast Border and Rich Woven Pallu
Muted Plum Purple gives this handwoven pure silk Kanjivaram Butta saree a quiet, sophisticated depth. Individually spaced antique-gold paisley buttas sit across the body, allowing the rich purple silk to remain open and luminous between each motif.
❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. This piece represents about 30 active days on the loom.

This is a confirmed Butta composition in pure mulberry silk, with small individually spaced zari motifs set against an open silk ground, leaving the body relatively uncluttered between each motif. This particular piece represents approximately 30 active days on the loom, though weaving time varies by piece. Woven for Idam Living by skilled artisan families in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu. Read our story.
Body, Border and Pallu: The body shifts between smoky violet, muted plum and deeper aubergine-purple through the folds. Against this restrained colour, the antique-gold buttas appear warm and precise without overwhelming the silk. The border introduces a warm Burnt Rust and copper-brown contrast, richly worked with antique-gold floral ornament, traditional woven forms and layered zari bands. The change from cool plum purple to earthy rust gives the saree a particularly distinctive colour story. The pallu becomes considerably denser, with an extensive antique-gold diamond lattice and long ornamental registers woven across the warm rust ground. Pair it with Burnt Rust for a strong contrast blouse, Muted Plum Purple for a tonal treatment, or antique gold for a richer ceremonial finish.
