Dewdrop Sage Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Zari Kattam Checks and Yazhi Border
Dewdrop Sage Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Zari Kattam Checks and Yazhi Border
Saraswati Puja — books, instruments, and silk sarees placed in worship calls for a saree with serene, majestic beauty. This handwoven pure silk Kanjeevaram saree is woven in the distinguished Zari Kattam style, where fine zari threads intersect across the silk body to form a luminous grid. Each saree takes approximately 10 days on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine. Woven with care by our family's artisan partners in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district. Read our story.
The body is woven in a tranquil dewdrop sage green pure mulberry silk, a soothing blend of soft sage, seafoam, and muted eucalyptus that evokes the calm of early morning dew. Fine Zari Kattam checks run across the silk with exceptional precision, each square enclosing exquisitely woven Mayil (peacock) and Kamalam (lotus) zari buttas. Explore more from our Zari Kattam Kanchipuram collection.
The magnificent border is richly woven with an imposing procession of majestic Yazhi motifs, symbols of strength and protection in South Indian temple architecture. The grandeur continues into the richly woven pallu, where elephants, flying horses, Irai (parrot) motifs, and traditional ornamental designs are meticulously arranged in magnificent zari panels.
