Body, Border and Pallu: Petite Maanga-shaped gold zari buttas are placed at measured intervals across the silk, leaving enough open colour for the irattai-niram shot-silk effect to remain prominent. The broad Pettu carries the more elaborate weaving: stately Mayil motifs sit within temple-koodu inspired frames, surrounded by curling Kodi-Valli work and finished with a crisp Vanki rhythm, while Chakram rosettes, figurative temple-inspired panels and finely worked Seer registers lead into a broad luminous gold zari field.
