Maragatham Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Petite Gandaberunda Buttas
Maragatham Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Petite Gandaberunda Buttas
Like wet maragatham leaves set beside tender rose petals, this saree plays with depth and softness at once. The green silk body is quiet and poised, dotted with petite Gandaberunda buttas, before opening into a pallu that glows in petal-pink and gold.
❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree spent roughly 14 active days on the loom, in addition to dyeing, threading and finishing.

Woven in the Butta tradition, this Pure Silk Kancheepuram saree uses petite zari Gandaberunda buttas to animate a deep green body while a small zari border keeps the line clean and understated. The richer pallu brings the ornamental finish forward, giving the saree a graceful progression from stillness to splendour. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 14 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: A small zari border traces the edge with fine gold lines, lifted by a petal-pink selvedge note.
Pallu: A rich petal pink pallu with dense all-over zari work and refined seer detailing forms the grand finish.
Styling: Style it with a petal-pink, green or antique gold blouse, ruby or temple jewellery, and a sleek bun or braid. It feels especially right for temple functions, Karthigai Deepam evenings, December concerts, wedding lunches, New Year gatherings and Pongal celebrations.
Its green-and-pink palette carries both freshness and depth, making it a lovely option for festive occasions, ceremonies, cultural gatherings and special occasions.
