Manjal Yellow Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Arakku Red Korvai Border

Manjal Yellow Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Arakku Red Korvai Border

For a South Indian Brahmin wedding's muhurtham ceremony, this radiant Manjal yellow handwoven pure silk Kanchipuram saree is woven in the Korvai style. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 45 days on the loom overall and cannot be replicated by machine. Each piece is handwoven in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district by families we've worked with for years. Read our story.

Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. This saree took 45 days to make — the silk is dyed, threaded, and hand-woven over roughly 20 on the loom.

The vivid body is handwoven in Manjal yellow pure mulberry silk, scattered with delicately handwoven floral and Maanga paisley buttas in gold zari.

A beautiful Arakku red border is arranged with layers of peacocks, mango forms, floral bands and geometric zari motifs, while a Manthulir green selvedge — inspired by tender mango leaves — adds an unexpected finishing detail.

Styling Tip

Keep this festive saree grounded with modern minimal styling — a tonal Manjal-yellow sleeveless blouse, sleek hair and a single pair of antique-gold studs — letting the Manthulir green selvedge stand out as the only surprise.

Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m self-colour Manjal yellow piece, with complimentary tailoring through August 27 ($30 value). See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
