Magenta Violet Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Malli Moggu Buttas and Coral Orange Pallu
Magenta Violet Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Malli Moggu Buttas and Coral Orange Pallu
Reconnecting with old friends over a long-overdue evening together, this handwoven pure silk Kanjeevaram is saturated in a luminous magenta-violet, a jewel-toned colour that shifts subtly between vivid magenta, violet and deeper purple as the silk moves through the light.
❖ Every saree is made to order. 40 days pass between dyeing the silk and the finished weave, roughly 14 of it spent on the loom.

The body follows a classic Butta composition, scattered with delicate Malli Moggu buttas. These slender jasmine-bud motifs are woven in gold zari and spaced generously across the silk, creating a graceful rhythm without crowding the field. Their elongated form brings quiet traditional detail while allowing the remarkable colour of the body to remain dominant. Explore Pure Silk Kanchipuram sarees →
The border is intentionally narrow and elegant, finished with slim gold zari lines and a warm orange-red edge. Rather than competing with the body, it acts as a precise frame around the saturated violet silk.
The pallu changes the composition dramatically, opening into a vivid coral-orange field enriched with long vertical gold zari bands. The shift from cool magenta-violet to glowing coral-orange creates a strong but beautifully controlled contrast, while the antique-gold detailing visually connects the two colour fields.
The palette is especially memorable: magenta-violet, coral-orange and antique gold. The Malli Moggu buttas lend the saree a soft traditional delicacy, while the bold contrast pallu introduces brightness and celebration without disturbing the restraint of the body.
Styling: Choose a textured, subtly woven blouse — a raw-silk or dupion weave in deep violet or antique gold — for tactile interest that won't pull focus from the slender Malli Moggu motifs. Keep jewellery to polished-gold jhumkas and let the coral-orange pallu carry the drama of colour.

Imagine It Paired With: Let the saree remain the poetry. A softly embroidered blouse, traced with delicate florals and antique-gold thread, adds just enough detail to frame its colour, texture and timeless elegance.
