Luminous Ivory-Gold Handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu Saree with Heritage Zari Border
Luminous Ivory-Gold Handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu Saree with Heritage Zari Border
Cultural evening in Fremont, California — the heart of the Bay Area desi community calls for a saree that carries its own quiet radiance. Handwoven in the traditional Zari Kattam construction, where fine zari threads intersect across the silk body to form a luminous grid, this saree layers gold zari buttas across a glowing ivory ground. Each saree takes 42 days from dyeing to weaving and cannot be replicated by machine. This saree is handwoven by our partner weaver families in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district. Read our story
❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced.
42 days in the making. From dyed silk thread to finished weave, with about 16 of that on the loom itself.
Silk Mark Certified | 16 Days on Loom | Pure Mulberry Silk | Handwoven in Kanchipuram
The body glows in soft ivory pure mulberry silk, its surface alive with fine gold zari threads woven into the signature Zari Kattam grid. Delicate gold zari buttas are scattered across the drape, catching the light with every fold — a subtle, all-over shimmer rather than a single bold motif. The rich antique gold zari border is densely worked with peacocks, floral medallions, and yali-inspired motifs alongside heritage zari bands — a border that has carried ceremonial weight in Kanchipuram weaving for generations. The pallu continues the same opulent artistry in matching zari work, making this saree an heirloom piece suited to the grandest occasions.
This saree suits weddings, bridal ceremonies, temple celebrations, and milestone occasions where understated grandeur is called for. Pair it with a self-colour ivory-gold silk blouse for a seamless look, or a deep maroon or emerald green blouse for contrast. Traditional gold jewellery — a temple-style necklace, jhumkas, and a delicate maang tikka — completes the drape beautifully.
Blouse Piece Included — 0.8m self-colour Ivory-Gold pure silk, included with every saree. Complimentary blouse stitching for all Kanchipuram silk saree orders until Aug 27 ($30 value) — see the Blouse Stitching Guide.
