Lime green and purple is one of those Kanchipuram colour pairings that looks like a bold choice until you see it in silk — and then it looks like the only choice. This Zari Kattam Kanjipuram wears the combination with the assurance of a weave tradition that has never been afraid of colour. Zari Kattam brings fine zari threads intersecting across the silk body to form a luminous grid — here in lime green, the gold sitting over the silk like sunlight on leaves. The body is a vivid, fully saturated lime green — parrot green in Tamil tradition, a colour of life and freshness that reads with remarkable luminosity in pure mulberry silk. The Zari Kattam fine gold grid covers the entire body surface, a gentle shimmer that does not compete with the silk's own colour but adds a layer of complexity. The body carries no butta, no additional motifs — the grid and the green are the statement.

The border is a deep purple — a strong, cool contrast to the warm lime — carrying multiple bands of gold zari in Rettapet construction: twin parallel lines framing the border, and within that frame, layered horizontal gold zari bands with geometric Seepu Reku patterns.
