Woven as a Butta Kanjivaram in a substantial 4-ply silk construction, the body is unusually dense and weighty, with a close diagonal twill-like effect that recalls the fine linear rhythm associated with Banarasi Katan and brocade textiles. The light lavender-purple base sits beneath a strong antique-gold sheen, so the surface changes noticeably with angle and light. This is still a Kanchipuram saree, not a Banarasi saree: the Banarasi reference describes the visual vocabulary and surface treatment, while the underlying product remains a handwoven Kanjivaram. Border: The broad border is densely woven in a Banarasi-inspired brocade language, with large paisley-like arches, stylised tree and floral forms, fine creeper work and layered ornamental registers. Deep maroon outlines and small muted green and pastel accents sit against the lavender-gold ground, giving the border a restrained multicolour effect while preserving the antique metallic luminosity.

Pallu: The pallu is exceptionally dense, moving from the diagonal lavender-gold body into an all-over micro-geometric brocade field framed by longitudinal paisley, floral and ornamental registers. Maroon detailing reappears through the woven bands, making the pallu visually richer and more intricate than the already substantial body.

Styling: Keep the blouse deep plum, antique gold or a quiet muted sage so the border remains the focus. The thickness of the 4-ply silk suits a clean, structured drape with fewer soft folds.
