Kumkum Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Mayil Zari Buttas and Elephant Peacock Zari Border
Kumkum Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Mayil Zari Buttas and Elephant Peacock Zari Border
A radiant Kumkum Red, vivid and ceremonial, with the saturated richness of fresh sindoor and a soft ruby undertone, this handwoven pure silk Kanjivaram is built around the beauty of individually woven zari buttas.
❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. This Butta saree spends approximately 8 to 10 active days on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine.

The pure mulberry silk body is scattered with handwoven Mayil zari buttas, each small peacock form appearing separately across the brilliant red silk. Smaller geometric zari buttas punctuate the body between them, creating a measured rhythm of gold without overwhelming the intensity of the Kumkum Red.
The border becomes considerably more elaborate. Luminous antique-gold appearance zari is woven into broad ornamental registers where elephant and peacock motifs repeat through the border, interspersed with curving traditional ornament and framed by finer zari lines. Against the saturated red ground, the figurative zari work gives the saree a distinctly ceremonial presence.
The balance is particularly striking: an open red body illuminated by individual Mayil buttas, followed by a border where the zari becomes dense, sculptural and richly detailed.
Styling: Keep the blouse close to the Kumkum Red body and allow the woven gold border to remain the principal ornament. Antique-gold jhumkas or one traditional necklace are enough. A clean pleated pallu will make the Mayil buttas visible while giving the elephant-and-peacock border full prominence.
