Woven in the Rettapet tradition, A bright Kili Pachai, or fresh parrot-lime green, silk body bright as the first tender foliage, crossed by evenly spaced forest-green and plum-brown Veldhari bands worked in silk thread. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 18 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: Broad deep raspberry and red-plum Rettapet borders with a narrow gold-zari floral register at the body join, a broad plain silk panel, and a further slim lustrous zari strip by the edge.
Pallu: A grand rose-plum pallu thick with warm copper-gold zari and densely arranged ornamental floral geometry.
Styling: Wear with a raspberry or dark plum blouse to deepen the contrast, or repeat the Kili Pachai silk for a bright monochrome look. A simple gold chain, small temple earrings and low bun keep the Veldhari stripes and generous pallu as the focal points.
