Kesari Orange Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Zari Kattam Saree with Peacock-Inspired Gold Zari Border
Kesari Orange Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Zari Kattam Saree with Peacock-Inspired Gold Zari Border
Kesari Orange gives this handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram a vivid warm body, articulated through a fine classic-gold Zari Kattam ground and restrained circular zari buttas. Hairline zari moves across the silk in close rhythm, producing a quiet metallic shimmer rather than an overtly heavy surface.
❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 42 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 16 on the loom — to complete.

This is a confirmed Zari Kattam composition. Fine hairline classic-gold zari lines form a disciplined grid across the body, with restrained circular gold-zari buttas placed within the checks, producing a quiet metallic shimmer against the vivid Kesari Orange field.
Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: The border carries a richer register of gold zari with peacock-inspired scrolling ornament and miniature geometric bands, finished by a sharply defined Deep Bottle Green selvedge that grounds the warmth of the Orange body.
Pallu: The pallu becomes considerably more elaborate, developing into a densely woven gold-zari field with fine diagonal patterning and long peacock-inspired ornamental bands.
Styling: Kesari Orange creates a saturated blouse direction, while Deep Bottle Green repeats the narrow edge. Antique gold or Arakku strengthens the ceremonial character for festive occasions, ceremonies and cultural gatherings.
The Kesari Orange and Deep Bottle Green palette works beautifully for Navratri, Vijayadashami, Diwali, Karthigai Deepam, weddings, temple programs and other cultural celebrations.
