Kathiripoo Violet gives this handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram the saturated colour of fresh brinjal blossoms under evening light. The silk moves between royal blue-violet and deeper amethyst as the folds turn, creating a rich ceremonial purple framed by classic gold zari.

The body is structured in a pronounced gold Zari Kattam, with intersecting zari lines forming generous square compartments across the violet silk. Chakram-style circular medallions alternate with Annam-style bird buttas inside the Kattam, creating a measured architectural rhythm reminiscent of the ordered geometry of older Kanchipuram compositions.

Border: A luminous plain classic-gold zari panel anchors the lower edge, framed by fine geometric Reku-style detailing. Beneath it, a figured ornamental register carries repeated Yaanai motifs in defined compartments, giving the border a distinctly temple-processional character against the Kathiripoo Violet silk.
Mundhanai: The pallu is exceptionally elaborate. Dense classic-gold latticework fills the central field, surrounded by long vertical ornamental panels carrying Mayil and Yaanai-inspired figurative zari work. Fine geometric bands and leaf-like edging complete the composition. In direct light the zari approaches the brightness of freshly polished temple brass, while softer light brings forward a deeper antique-gold tone.
Styling: A tonal Kathiripoo Violet blouse keeps the saturated purple uninterrupted, while classic gold creates a stronger ceremonial interpretation.
