16 Days on Loom
Pure Mulberry Silk
Handwoven in Kanchipuram
A Butta saree: petite, widely spaced Kamalam buttas in gold-toned zari let the rich purple silk remain the focal point. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border A warm-ivory two-tier border: rhythmic Vanki pettu chevrons above a wider Yaanai pettu of elephants and architectural and floral ornament in gold-toned zari.
Pallu The grand warm-ivory pallu is filled with closely woven zari lattice, fine geometric fields and ornate floral and elephant-inspired bands. Parallel gold stripes frame the end, finished with purple tassels.
Styling Wear with a blouse in the border shade for a traditional silhouette, or choose a restrained silk blouse to let the pallu's workmanship take centre stage. Suitable for weddings, temple celebrations and family occasions.
