This is a confirmed Zari Kattam composition. Fine classic-gold zari lines cross the Kathiri body in a delicate checked grid, creating an architectural rhythm without making the field feel dense. The Kattam remains quiet and measured, allowing the unusual depth of the silk colour to stay prominent.

Zari Kattam: Kattam refers to the checked or grid-like structure running across the silk field. Here, fine classic-gold zari lines form a restrained lattice over the deep Kathiri Plum body, giving the saree structure without overwhelming the silk.

Contrast border: The dark body opens into a remarkably soft Alli Pachai, a pale mint-sage green reminiscent of young lotus leaves washed with morning mist. The coolness of this colour against Kathiri Plum gives the saree its particularly unusual light-against-dark character.

The lower border is broad and richly woven in classic gold zari. Floral and stylised traditional ornament unfolds through multiple registers, divided by fine geometric separators and narrow Reku-style lines. Against the misty Alli Pachai field, the gold appears softly aged rather than sharply yellow, almost like old metal catching filtered daylight.

Mundhanai: The pallu moves fully into Alli Pachai and becomes substantially richer. Dense classic-gold zari creates a fine all-over geometric texture with an almost tissue-like visual luminosity, framed by broad bands of floral and traditional Kanchipuram ornament. This describes the luminous appearance only; the saree is not classified as Tissue Silk.

The movement from dark checked Kathiri silk into cool pale green and softly glowing gold feels almost like dark temple stone meeting sunlight on fresh leaves, giving the saree ceremonial presence without excessive visual weight.

Styling: Pair with Kathiri Plum for a deep tonal treatment, or carry the border colour into an Alli Pachai blouse for a softer contrast. Antique-finish temple jewellery, warm gold jhumkas or muted gemstone jewellery will sit particularly well against the plum and mist-green palette.
