Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Zari Kattam Saree with Fresh Green Selvedge

Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Zari Kattam Saree with Fresh Green Selvedge

Ivory gives this handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram a luminous, restrained body, structured through an exceptionally delicate Zari Kattam ground. Fine gold lines form a quiet checked framework, interspersed with small zari buttas that catch light without overwhelming the pale silk.

❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 42 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 16 on the loom — to complete.

This pure mulberry silk Kancheepuram is built on a classic Zari Kattam composition. Fine gold lines form a quiet checked framework, interspersed with small zari buttas that catch light without overwhelming the pale Ivory silk.

Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border: Traditional gold-zari ornament develops through the border and is crisply outlined by a Fresh Green selvedge, a narrow but important colour detail against the ivory field.

Pallu: Horizontal zari bands and traditional ornamental registers extend the structured language on a richer scale.

Styling: Ivory creates the softest blouse direction, while Fresh Green picks up the selvedge. Antique gold offers a ceremonial alternative.
