Body, Border and Pallu: The border is built in the layered rhythm characteristic of Varisaipet, moving through Deep Arakku Red, Burnt Orange and Dark Green before opening into the principal gold zari registers. Repeating Annam-inspired bird forms appear within framed panels, surrounded by fine Seer lines, tiny floral rows and geometric zari detailing. Rather than relying on one broad ornamental band, the Varisaipet derives its character from multiple woven registers placed one after another. Crisp Vanki detailing, narrow gold lines and contrasting coloured bands give the border its unmistakable old-Kanchi cadence against the restraint of the Ivory body.
