Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Varisaipet Korvai Border and Peacock Silk Thread Buttas
Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Varisaipet Korvai Border and Peacock Silk Thread Buttas
Diwali celebration in Edison, New Jersey — the Little India of the East Coast. This graceful ivory saree is handwoven in the traditional Korvai technique, where body and border are woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 20 days on the loom, and cannot be replicated by machine. This saree is handwoven by our partner weaver families in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district. Read our story.
The pure mulberry silk body glows with a soft natural sheen, while delicately woven peacock silk thread buttas create a sophisticated rhythm across the saree. Their understated elegance allows the luxurious silk to remain the focal point. Explore more of our Korvai Kanchipuram silk saree collection.
The contrasting Varisaipet Korvai border is woven with traditional zari motifs that frame the saree beautifully before flowing into an intricately zari-woven grand pallu, showcasing artistry synonymous with authentic Kanchipuram weaving.
Style this saree with a self-colour ivory blouse for understated elegance, or pair it with a peacock blue or royal purple blouse and gold temple jewellery for weddings, festive occasions, temple visits, and treasured family celebrations.
