Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Raspberry-Pink Korvai Twin-Peacock Border

Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Raspberry-Pink Korvai Twin-Peacock Border

A family gathering with no occasion at all — just a reason to dress up. This warm ivory saree is woven with fine gold Zari Kattam checks across a self-coloured body. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 48 days on the loom. Every thread passes through the hands of artisan families in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district. read our story

Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. This saree took 48 days on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine.

The warm ivory body is woven in pure mulberry silk, with fine zari threads intersecting to form a luminous grid across the surface — the defining feature of Zari Kattam weaving. Explore the wider pure silk Kanchipuram collection for more of this calibre.

The broad raspberry-pink Korvai border is entirely handwoven in gold zari, closing in a vintage twin-peacock motif set within a Rettapet border — a detail historically reserved for the most considered pieces in a weaver's repertoire. The pallu continues that same intensity of zari work through to the finish.

Styling Tip

Let contemporary sculptural gold jewellery meet this traditional weave head-on — a single architectural cuff or an asymmetric ear cuff reads as a deliberate, modern counterpoint to the twin-peacock border. Keep the blouse a plain raspberry-pink silk, and leave the elaborate pallu open over the shoulder to do the rest of the work.

Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m self-colour warm ivory piece, with complimentary tailoring through August 27 ($30 value). See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
