Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Zari Kattam Maanga Butta and Korvai Paisley Pallu

Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Zari Kattam Maanga Butta and Korvai Paisley Pallu

There is a Kanchipuram saree that earns its weight at the pallu — and this ivory Kancheepuram is one of the most refined examples of that tradition. The body builds in measured restraint while the pallu delivers everything at once: dense gold Paisley motifs across a deep red ground. This is a bridal saree where the drama belongs to the terminal drape. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 10–14 days on the loom. Woven by our family's artisan weaver families in Kunnam village near Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu — read our story.

The ivory body is woven in Zari Kattam with a Kanchi Kattam stripe structure — intersecting zari lines creating a broad rectangular grid across the ivory silk. Maanga Butta — the beloved mango motif in gold zari — are woven at intervals within the grid field. Browse all pure silk Kanchipuram sarees.

At the border, the Korvai construction — where body and border are woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom, becoming one fabric without stitching — brings the ivory body to its deep red border. The full pallu expands dense gold Paisley motifs across the deep red ground: the ivory-to-deep-red colour break when the pallu falls is one of the most dramatic visual moments in the Kanchipuram saree tradition.

Styling: For bridal ceremonies, wedding receptions, and the most significant cultural occasions. An ivory or cream silk blouse makes the pallu the undisputed focal point; a deep red blouse picks up the border. Pair with uncut diamond or jadau jewellery.
