Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Ettukol Weave and Antique Gold Pallu

Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Ettukol Weave and Antique Gold Pallu

The Ettukol weave is Kanchipuram's most structurally complex foundation — woven on eight shuttles rather than the standard four, creating layered interlacements with distinctive depth and three-dimensional texture that a standard four-shuttle Kanchipuram silk cannot replicate. This ivory Kancheepuram is a saree for connoisseurs. Ettukol sarees are rarer because fewer weavers have mastered all eight shuttles simultaneously — a skill that takes years to develop and is found in only a small number of weaving families in Kanchipuram. Woven by our family's artisan weaver families in Kunnam village near Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu — read our story.

The ivory body is woven in the Ettukol tradition, where eight-shuttle weave creates layered interlacements with distinctive depth and texture. Ettukol sarees are identifiable by the slight raised texture visible when the saree is held to the light. Browse all Ettukol Kanchipuram sarees.

The body transitions into a plain ivory border with a fine zari edge line before resolving into the antique gold pallu — a full-field gold zari terminal of warm, muted gold that complements the ivory body without overpowering it.

Styling: For bridal trousseau, senior family members at Tamil and Telugu weddings, intimate ceremonies, and formal cultural occasions where the quality of the fabric speaks above its ornament. An ivory or cream silk blouse keeps the body pure; a pale gold blouse transitions smoothly into the antique gold pallu. Pair with uncut diamond, pearl, or antique gold jewellery.
