Handwoven Patteda Anchu Cotton Saree from Karnataka with Broad Double Border
🎁 Limited Offer: 2 Sarees for $110 — Mix or match any two Patteda Anchu sarees and pay $110 at checkout. Regular price $79 each.
A handloom cotton saree from Karnataka's Gadag district, with a weaving tradition that goes back to the 10th century.
The Patteda Anchu is woven in pure cotton with a characteristically coarse hand-feel — open-weave, naturally breathable, and built for all-day wear. Unlike cottons processed for instant softness, this fabric softens gradually with each wash, becoming more fluid and comfortable against the body over time.
The fabric drapes with a natural weight — substantial enough to hold its folds, easy enough to wear through the day without fatigue. The fine check structure across the body is woven into the fabric itself, not printed, so it retains its clarity wash after wash.
The defining feature is the border — broad, structural, in a contrasting colour, running the full length of both edges. Both faces of the fabric are woven identically, so the saree can be draped from either side. No fall or pico is required.
The traditional palette draws from mustard, maroon, pink, and green — colours that have come from this region's weaving practice for centuries.
