Green and Yellow Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Pillayar Reku Border
Green and Yellow Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Pillayar Reku Border
During an evening reception in New York, this saree will reflect a bold and luminous elegance. A pure silk Kanjeevaram woven in the Pattupet tradition, this forest green saree carries its richness entirely in silk — no zari on the body, only coloured threads interlacing across the surface in a weave that is wholly the product of the handloom.
The deep forest green pure silk body is woven in the Pattupet tradition, coloured silk yarns building a surface that is quietly saturated and deeply textured. Rudraksham motifs — the sacred bead of Shiva — are rendered across the body in silk thread at measured intervals, their form precise and devotional, the overall rhythm of the body understated and entirely assured.
The bright golden yellow Korvai pallu and border are woven separately on the loom and interlocked with the green body by hand, arriving as a full wash of warm gold silk that completes the saree with maximum colour contrast. The Rettapet border carries Pillayar Reku detailing in silk thread — geometric lines honouring Ganesha woven at the edge — with a hot pink accent band bridging body and border in a combination that is bold, festive, and unmistakably Kanchipuram.
