Forest Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Zari Kattam Checks and Raspberry Pink Border
Forest Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Zari Kattam Checks and Raspberry Pink Border
A quiet wedding anniversary at home, made grand with a new Kanjeevaram, calls for a saree of rich, jewel-toned colour. Fine zari threads intersect across the forest green pure mulberry silk body to form a luminous grid, accented with petite zari buttas for subtle richness. Each saree takes 42 days from dyeing to weaving and cannot be replicated by machine. Handwoven with generations of skill by families in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. Read our story.
The body is a rich forest green pure mulberry silk, densely woven in the traditional Zari Kattam style — fine gold zari threads intersect to form an elegant checked grid, accented with petite zari buttas for subtle richness. This is a signature Kanchipuram pure silk Kanchipuram construction, prized for its luminous grid weave.
The contrasting raspberry pink border is richly woven with antique-gold zari peacock motifs and intricate floral detailing. The jewel-toned combination of deep green, vivid pink, and luminous gold gives the saree a bold yet beautifully traditional presence. The pallu carries the same rich zari peacock and floral detailing in a fuller sweep.
A striking choice for weddings, temple celebrations, festive gatherings, and classical occasions. Pair with a raspberry pink or antique gold silk blouse and statement gold jewellery — a temple necklace and jhumkas — for a bold, traditional finish.
