Emerald Teal Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Saree with Round Zari Buttas and Raspberry Red Pallu
Emerald Teal Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Saree with Round Zari Buttas and Raspberry Red Pallu
An evening house party with close friends calls for exactly this kind of silk — easy conversation, easy elegance. This handwoven pure silk Kanchi Pattu is saturated in a deep emerald-teal green, a jewel-toned shade that sits beautifully between cool emerald and rich teal. Against the concentrated colour, the silk remains elegant and remarkably composed.
❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 40 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 14 on the loom — to complete.

The body follows a classic Butta composition, scattered with petite individually woven round gold zari motifs. Their measured spacing creates delicate points of light across the saturated green without interrupting the clarity of the body.
The border introduces the contrast through a narrow raspberry-red edge before opening into a broad antique-gold appearance zari band. Traditional peacock-inspired forms repeat through the main register, framed by fine ornamental lines that give the border a clean, architectural finish.
The pallu changes the colour story dramatically, shifting into a rich raspberry-red field structured with long vertical antique-gold zari panels and repeating traditional motifs. The matching raspberry-red blouse continues that warmer colour family, creating a striking counterpoint to the cool green body.
The final palette is exceptionally vivid yet deeply traditional: emerald teal, raspberry red and antique gold. The strength of the saree comes from the contrast between its restrained jewel-green body and the richer ceremonial treatment of the pallu.
Styling: Let the raspberry-red blouse run in a clean boat neck and keep the neckline free of a necklace — earrings do the talking here. Antique-gold jhumkas or polished-gold drops pick up the border's zari beautifully, while the open pallu shows off its vertical registers against the green body.
