The body is woven in a shot colour technique — where warp threads in emerald green and weft threads in parrot green intersect across the silk, creating a living double shade that shifts between two distinct greens as the light and angle change. This is one of Kanchipuram weaving's most celebrated optical effects, achieved entirely through the choice and positioning of coloured silk threads on the loom.
