Pure Mulberry Silk
Handwoven in Kanchipuram
Woven in a traditional Rettapet composition with a contrast Korvai border, in which the contrasting border and body are interlocked during weaving, and finished with 2 gm zari. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 18 active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border A contrast Korvai border of peacocks, Vanki pettu and Kolam pettu, arranged with silk-thread and zari interweaving. The border carries warm copper-red reflections, with fine gold ornamentation.
Pallu The richly ornamented pallu unfurls Alangaram Mayil motifs against vivid Arakku pink and burnished red-gold tones.
Styling A distinctive heirloom for wedding rituals, festive gatherings and temple visits. Pair with a minimal embroidered blouse or an Idam Living festive Banarasi blouse.
