Emerald Green and Magenta Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Sorgavaasal Mayil Border
Emerald Green and Magenta Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Sorgavaasal Mayil Border
A rich emerald green suits a festival evening or a reception where you want to stand apart in the crowd. This saree is woven in the traditional Kanchipuram Butta style, with peacock motifs placed across the body at intervals. Each saree takes 10 days on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine. Woven by our family's artisan weaver families in Kunnam village near Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu — read our story.
The body is woven in emerald green pure mulberry silk with elegant gold peacock buttas across the field — part of our pure silk Kanchipuram collection.
The rich magenta border features the classic Sorgavaasal Mayil motif in gold zari, with the same detailing carried through the pallu.
Pair this saree with a magenta or gold silk blouse and temple-style gold jewellery — jhumkas, a statement necklace, and gold bangles — for weddings, festivals, and traditional ceremonies.
