Emerald Aqua Green Shot-Colour Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Korvai Saree with Gold Zari Buttas and Raspberry Pink Pallu
Emerald Aqua Green Shot-Colour Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Korvai Saree with Gold Zari Buttas and Raspberry Pink Pallu
The first impression of this handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu saree is its extraordinary colour movement. The body appears Emerald Aqua Green, but it is not a flat single shade. Differently coloured warp and weft threads create a traditional shot-colour effect, allowing the silk to move between luminous aqua-green, turquoise and deeper emerald as it turns through the light.
❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced — approximately 15 to 22 active days on the loom, reflecting weaving time only and excluding silk preparation, dyeing, warping, loom setup and finishing.

This is a confirmed Korvai composition in pure mulberry silk, its interlocked body and border woven separately and then joined at the loom in the traditional Korvai technique. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 15 to 22 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. Woven for Idam Living by skilled artisan families in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu. Read our story.
Body, Border and Pallu: Small gold zari buttas are scattered across the shifting shot-colour field, leaving enough open silk for the double-shade effect to remain beautifully visible. The Korvai border brings a dramatic change in colour and structure: saturated Raspberry Pink is layered with warm Vermilion Orange, a deep dark contrasting band and traditional gold zari ornamentation. The pallu turns fully into Raspberry Pink and becomes considerably richer, with a dense repeating diagonal zari field framed by more elaborate ornamental bands. Explore the Korvai collection, or browse the wider pure silk Kanchipuram collection for more of this character.
Styling: Allow the shot colour to lead. A plain Raspberry Pink blouse creates the strongest connection to the pallu, while Emerald Green keeps the styling tonal and lets the border provide the contrast. Choose antique-gold jewellery rather than introducing another bright colour. Finish with a softly centre-parted braid and jasmine, or a polished low bun with minimal gold adornment.
