This lightweight Kanchipuram is woven in a saturated blue-violet silk, with small gold zari buttas placed at intervals across the body. Stylised bird and floral forms introduce decorative detail without covering the rich silk ground. The open placement of the motifs creates a pleasing contrast with the much denser ornamental work of the border and pallu. Border: A contrasting magenta-purple border carries a broad register of gold zari ornamentation. Repeating circular medallions and stylised bird figures are arranged within finely framed geometric sections. A delicate decorative edging runs along the upper boundary, bringing definition to the meeting of the violet body and its ornate border.

Pallu: The magenta-purple pallu is richly woven with closely repeated gold zari diamond latticework. Ornamental side registers contain circular floral forms and decorative motifs, framed by a pointed leaf-like edging. The dense geometric field creates a distinct contrast with the scattered buttas of the body.

Styling: Pair with a plain magenta-purple blouse to echo the border, or choose antique gold to draw out the zari. A pair of traditional gold jhumkas and a low bun would complement the richness of the pallu. For a contemporary look, keep the blouse simple and allow the colour and woven motifs to remain the focus.
