16 Days on Loom
Pure Mulberry Silk
Handwoven in Kanchipuram
A Vairaoosi saree: fine parallel zari lines run across the deep-brown body, with petite Kamalam zari buttas spaced between them. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border A substantial gold-toned border combines broad zari pettu with framed Sorgavaasal-inspired elephant forms, floral scrollwork and layered Muthu Seer-style ornamental rows, glowing against the brown silk.
Pallu A stately deep-brown pallu organised into long zari stripes, an ornate scrolling central panel, fine serrated geometric borders and a wide zari end band.
Styling Wear with a blouse in the border shade for a traditional silhouette, or choose a restrained silk blouse to let the pallu's workmanship take centre stage. Suitable for weddings, temple celebrations and family occasions.
