This is a confirmed Zari Kattam composition. Fine classic-gold zari lines form a disciplined grid across the body, creating a distinctly architectural Kanchipuram rhythm. Within the checks sit alternating Chakram-like circular medallions and petite stylised bird or peacock-inspired buttas, each appearing as an individual point of temple gold against the saturated blue field.

Zari Kattam: Kattam refers to the checked or grid-like structure woven through the silk field. Here, fine gold-zari lines establish a precise checked framework across the Deep Neelam body, with traditional motifs rhythmically placed within the individual divisions.

Yaanai border: The broad lower border becomes substantially more ceremonial, carrying repeating Yaanai-inspired elephant motifs in classic gold zari. Traditional geometric bands and fine Reku-style lines frame the elephant register, giving the border weight while maintaining the disciplined horizontal architecture associated with old Kanchi weaving.

Mundhanai: The pallu develops into a densely worked classic-gold zari composition. An intricate geometric field is framed by ornamental bird-inspired and floral bands, producing the grandeur of old temple gold illuminated against a Deep Neelam night sky.

Styling: A Deep Neelam blouse creates the most seamless tonal treatment and allows the gold Kattam and Yaanai border to remain dominant. Traditional temple jewellery, warm gold jhumkas or one sculptural antique-gold necklace will complement the blue beautifully. Fresh jasmine at the hair gives the deep sapphire colour an especially traditional South Indian finish.
