Deep Forest Green Handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu Saree with Zari Kattam Grid and Gold Zari Border

Deep Forest Green Handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu Saree with Zari Kattam Grid and Gold Zari Border

There's a particular kind of moment when a daughter is draped in silk for the very first time — this Deep Forest Green Kanchipuram was woven for exactly that. Woven in the traditional Zari Kattam technique, fine zari threads intersect across the silk body to form a luminous grid — a hallmark of authentic pure silk Kanchipuram craftsmanship. Sourced directly from the weaver families of Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. read our story.

❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced.

42 days in the making. From dyed silk thread to finished weave, with about 16 of that on the loom itself.

The body of this saree is woven in deep forest green pure mulberry silk, where fine gold zari threads intersect in a continuous checked grid — the signature Zari Kattam construction that catches the light with every fold. The grid sits self-coloured against the deep forest green ground, giving the silk a quiet shimmer rather than a bold contrast, true to the classic Zari Kattam idiom. Explore more of our Kanchipuram Pure Silks collection.

The border and pallu carry a rich self-coloured gold zari edge, woven to frame the grid body without overwhelming it — a finish traditionally reserved for both festive and ceremonial wear. The gold zari deepens toward the pallu, giving the drape a formal, finished weight that has made Zari Kattam a favourite for temple visits, weddings, and milestone family occasions for generations.

Style this Deep Forest Green Zari Kattam with a self-coloured or contrast silk blouse in gold, ivory, or deep maroon, and temple jewellery — a long haaram or a classic kemp necklace suits the grid pattern especially well. It drapes beautifully for a daughter's first silk drape, a Diwali celebration, or any occasion calling for understated festive elegance.
