Deep Forest Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Gandaberunda Zari Buttas and Rani Pink Border
Deep Forest Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Gandaberunda Zari Buttas and Rani Pink Border
This handwoven pure silk Kanjeevaram is built around a dramatic jewel-toned palette of deep forest green, vivid Rani pink and glowing antique gold. The body is saturated and restrained, allowing the richness of the green silk to form a powerful backdrop for its individually woven motifs.
❖ Nothing here comes off a shelf. 40 days of dyeing, threading, and weaving go into every saree, 14 of that on the loom.

The body follows a classic Butta composition, scattered with handwoven Gandaberunda zari buttas. Each traditional double-headed bird form is woven as a small, clearly defined gold motif across the green silk, creating a distinctive heritage rhythm without crowding the body.
The border is especially commanding. Brilliant Rani-pink silk is densely worked in antique-gold appearance zari, with repeated Gandaberunda motifs arranged in stately procession. A serrated temple-inspired zari line rises toward the green body, while fine geometric registers and a broad chevron-like band add further depth beneath.
The pallu becomes even more dramatic, shifting into a luminous coral-orange and Rani-pink field almost completely illuminated with fine antique-gold appearance zari. The concentration of gold creates a striking counterpoint to the darker, more restrained forest-green body.
The result is regal and unmistakably Kanchipuram: deep forest green against hot Rani pink, coral orange and antique gold, with the Gandaberunda motif giving both body and border a strong traditional identity.
Styling: Pair it with a deep forest-green or Rani-pink blouse and keep the jewellery in softened antique gold. One substantial necklace or a pair of traditional earrings is enough. Let the border and pallu fall open so the repeated Gandaberunda motifs remain visible.
