Deep Forest Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Rettapet Mayil Zari Border and Orange-Red Selvedge
Chosen for a Ganesh Chaturthi celebration with family and friends, this handwoven pure silk Kanchipuram saree brings together deep forest green, warm gold zari and a vivid orange-red selvedge. Twin parallel border lines create the balanced layered edge associated with Rettapet. Crafted thread by thread by artisan families in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district. Read our story.

The body is woven in deeply saturated forest-green pure mulberry silk. Individually spaced gold zari buttas alternate between petite floral medallions and stylised ornamental forms, leaving generous areas of the dark green silk open and allowing its remarkable colour depth to remain prominent. Explore our pure silk Kanchipuram collection.
The traditional Rettapet border is organised through twin gold zari registers filled with prominent Mayil motifs, stylised floral forms and fine geometric detailing. The pallu becomes considerably richer with long vertical gold zari bands and ornamental woven compositions. A narrow orange-red silk selvedge traces the edge, introducing a vivid finishing contrast against the forest green and gold.
Styling suggestion: Introduce a plain orange-red raw-silk blouse to pick up the narrow selvedge, or use the included forest-green blouse for a continuous tonal effect. Add polished-gold jhumkas, leave the neckline relatively quiet and wear the patterned pallu open over the shoulder. Finish with a centre-parted low bun and jasmine.
Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m self-colour deep forest-green silk. See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
