Deep Forest Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Varisaipet Mayil Butta and Rust Orange Border

Deep Forest Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Varisaipet Mayil Butta and Rust Orange Border

Deep forest green and rust orange is a Kanchipuram colour combination of the harvest season and the Deepavali festival — two colours that deepen each other. This Kanjipuram is woven in the Varisaipet tradition, in a plain silk body of immense depth and presence. Each saree takes 8–12 days on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine. Woven by our family's artisan weaver families in Kunnam village near Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu — read our story.

The deep forest green body is pure mulberry silk in the Varisaipet weave. Mayil Butta — peacock motifs woven fully in gold zari, the peacock's feathered form given full expression in the woven gold — are placed at measured intervals. Browse all pure silk Kanchipuram sarees.

The rust orange Varisaipet border carries red silk thread motifs woven alongside gold zari — the two materials building a border of layered visual richness with warmth and texture that single-material zari borders cannot achieve. The pallu continues in the same rust orange Varisaipet structure with red silk thread motifs.

Styling: For Navarathri, Deepavali, and Tamil and Telugu weddings. A deep forest green silk blouse is the most grounded choice; a rust orange blouse picks up the border colour. Pair with antique gold or ruby-set gold jewellery.
