This is a confirmed Butta composition in pure mulberry silk, with small individually spaced zari motifs set against an open silk ground, leaving the body relatively uncluttered between each motif. This particular piece represents approximately 27 active days on the loom, though weaving time varies by piece. Woven for Idam Living by skilled artisan families in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu. Read our story.

Body, Border and Pallu: The colour moves between bright emerald and deeper forest green as the handwoven silk catches the light. Against this saturated body, the antique-gold buttas appear especially warm while maintaining a restrained and wearable surface. The border introduces a traditional elephant motif register framed by fine ornamental and geometric zari bands. A narrow Arakku Red edge runs along the finish, adding a precise warm contrast against the green and gold. The pallu becomes considerably richer with dense antique-gold geometric lattice and long traditional woven registers, giving the saree a strong ceremonial finish suited to weddings, temple occasions, festive gatherings and family celebrations.
