Deep Bottle Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Zari Kattam Checks and Rani-Magenta Peacock Border
Deep Bottle Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Zari Kattam Checks and Rani-Magenta Peacock Border
For a loverly dance recital by a visiting artist from India, this Deep Bottle Green Pure Silk Kanchipuram has the composed, old-world presence of a saree chosen for the arts. Fine Zari Kattam checks bring order to the dark green silk, while Rani-Magenta and antique-gold zari give the palette its saturated ceremonial depth. Woven by artisan families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. Read our story.
❖ This saree took 42 days to make — the silk is dyed, threaded, and hand-woven over roughly 16 on the loom.

The pure mulberry silk body is a deep Bottle Green, dark and velvety in character. Fine antique-gold zari lines cross the silk to form generous Zari Kattam checks. Within them sit individual gold zari buttas, including ornate floral medallions and other stylised heritage forms. The measured geometry gives the body rhythm without overwhelming the richness of the green. Explore our Pure Silk Kanchipuram collection.
A narrow flash of Rani-Magenta introduces the broad antique-gold zari border, where repeated peacock imagery and fine ornamental detailing create a richly worked ceremonial edge. The pallu deepens into Rani-Magenta and magenta-purple, with fine horizontal zari lines opening into diamond latticework, small floral details and repeated peacock panels. The result has the dense, architectural richness associated with older Kanchipuram compositions. Explore our Zari Kattam sarees.
Styling: Echo the Rani-Magenta border with a plain silk blouse in the same saturated family, then keep jewellery to compact antique-gold earrings so the checked body and peacock zari remain dominant. Wear the hair in a side-parted sculpted bun with a small cluster of jasmine tucked low to one side, and leave the pallu open.
Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m running blouse piece included. Colour and design are not separately confirmed. See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
