The body is woven in luminous deep blue and lavender shot-colour pure mulberry silk, where the interplay of the two silk threads creates a shifting surface that moves between midnight blue, blue violet and luminous lavender as the light changes. Petite gold zari geometric buttas are individually spaced across the body, giving the colour room to remain the defining feature. Explore our pure silk Kanchipuram collection.
A broad gold zari border gives the saree its traditional richness. Large Mayil motifs appear between stylised floral forms and scrolling vines, framed by fine geometric zari bands. The pallu becomes denser with repeating gold zari geometry, creating a richly finished conclusion without diminishing the remarkable shifting colour of the body.
Styling suggestion: Style it with a plain self-colour elbow-length blouse to preserve the uninterrupted intensity of the shifting blue-lavender silk. Add polished-gold Mayil-inspired earrings, leave the neckline relatively quiet and arrange the pallu in broad shoulder pleats so the ornate border remains clearly visible. A clean centre-parted low bun will keep the finish composed.
