The body follows a classic Butta composition. Petite individually woven gold zari motifs are scattered at generous intervals, each compact floral-paisley form appearing like a small point of light against the near-black depth of the purple silk.

The broad border introduces a much richer concentration of ornament. Antique-gold appearance zari gathers into intricate traditional registers, geometric bands and densely worked figurative detailing. Against the dark body, the gold appears almost sculptural, giving the saree a stately Kanchipuram finish without overwhelming the restraint of the main field.

The pallu carries the gold further, opening into a broad mustard-antique-gold field with dense woven texture and layered zari registers. The transition from the shadowed aubergine body to the luminous pallu is especially dramatic.
