Deep Aubergine Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Mayil Chakram Zari Motifs

Deep Aubergine Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Mayil Chakram Zari Motifs

A saree gifted just because — for a friend who deserves it — calls for a saree of timeless, symmetrical beauty. This saree is handwoven in the traditional Zari Kattam style — fine zari threads intersect across the silk body to form a luminous grid. Each saree takes 42 days from dyeing to weaving and cannot be replicated by machine. Handcrafted on family looms across Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. Read our story.

Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. This saree took 42 days to make — the silk is dyed, threaded, and hand-woven over roughly 16 on the loom.

Fine gold zari threads form a luminous checked grid across the rich deep aubergine pure mulberry silk body. Each check encloses beautifully woven Mayil (peacock) and Chakram zari motifs, creating a striking balance of symmetry and traditional artistry — a signature Kanchipuram pure silk Kanchipuram Zari Kattam construction.

The classic gold zari border and opulent zari pallu complement the body's rhythmic detailing, celebrated hallmarks of Zari Kattam weaving.

An elegant choice for weddings, temple festivals, and cherished family celebrations. Pair with a deep aubergine or ivory silk blouse and classic gold jewellery — a temple necklace and jhumkas — for a rich, festive finish.
