Deep Arakku silk is drawn into long vertical movement by fine Oosi Vaanam zari stripes, giving this Vairaoosi Kanchipuram an unusually architectural body. Small gold motifs punctuate the lines before the saree opens into a much more elaborate border of Yazhi and Mayil ornament.

The Vairaoosi body is further articulated by Oosi Vaanam, with slender zari lines travelling vertically through the Arakku silk. The effect is precise and elongated, with scattered woven motifs breaking the repeated linear rhythm. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. Border: The ornate gold zari border brings together majestic Yazhi and Mayil motifs within richly framed traditional bands, creating a dramatic transition from the vertical body.

Pallu: The pallu is densely woven in warm gold, with majestic Yazhi and complementary traditional ornament forming the principal decorative language.

Styling: Keep the blouse in the Arakku family to preserve the vertical line of the body, or use antique gold for a more ceremonial finish. Traditional temple jewellery will echo the scale of the Yazhi and Mayil ornament.
